Las Lomitas PTA Volunteer Form

We have great opportunities for you to interact with students, staff and families.  Sign up for as many as will fit in your schedule. If you've already signed up at the PTA Volunteer Fair, or by submitting a paper volunteer form at the office, you do not need to complete the online form below. You can change to your volunteer status (add a committee, change a time commitment), by contacting volunteer@laslomitaspta.org or the committee chair directly.

Please complete your volunteer sign-ups by Friday, Sept. 2. If for any reason you can't complete the online form, you can download it and return the completed form to the Las Lomitas office. The committee lead for each of the programs you sign up for will contact you directly. Thank you for volunteering your time at Las Lomitas!!

Lunch Activities
Organize and run playground games during Friday lunch recess.  A fun way to interact with the kids. Choose desired frequency: 11:45am – 1:00pm  on Fridays, 1-4 times per month
Staff nurse’s office during lunchtime. No experience needed.

Serve hot lunches throughout the year to 1st – 3rd grade children outside behind the library. Need six volunteers each day. If your schedule allows, please consider staying to help the Green Team (see below).

Help with lunch time composting program (first six weeks of school is most intensive and then tapers off). Participate in annual bike rally. Develop new environmental awareness programs for Las Lomitas.

Student Enrichment
Help children make gifts and crafts at this festive winter event.  Be a Table Leader or just help out. Meeting and event in Cano Hall. Planning Mtg: Wed., Sep. 21   9-10:30
Workshop: Wed., Dec. 7, all day		 1-6 hour shifts
Go to the classroom, read aloud and lead discussions.  Program is for 3rd Graders only Program runs March - April 2012

Help families connect to school community. Initiate contact with assigned family.  Answer questions, inform them of/explain school and class events, help fill out forms. Language(s) spoken fluently:

Community Building Events
Set up displays of children’s artwork to be viewed during Open House in May 2012 Set-up prior to event and help dismantle. Event is Thursday, May 31, 2012 2 hour shifts the day before and/or the day after the event

Meet other families at this fun “welcome back” event.

Las Lomitas Appreciation Week Help coordinate and execute something special each day for our teachers and staff during appreciation week. Help prepare, set up and clean up for Friday’s lunch honoring teachers, staff and volunteers. Planning begins in late March for the week of May 7th-11th. Luncheon is May 11th. 1-2 hour meeting in late March and 1 hour planning meeting in April. Deliver daily treats May 7-11th. 1-2 hour shifts for May 11 lunch.
